Pro-D About the School Website Today

I attended a Pro-D session on the Prince of Wales website, and how the VSB supports it. I found out I could create a WordPress blog hosted by the VSB. I have requested a blog account be set up for me. I hope that it can be used to post PDF files of handouts and assignments. We'll see.

I rarely post here, and only seem to post about Pro-D days. I may use the new blog more frequently if it can be used to post different kinds of files.

Pro-D Day Today

A reminder that there will be a test on Mon., Sep. 26 for Math 8/9 Fast Track students, on Unit 2.

Pro-D Day - Fri., Nov. 26

I spent the day sitting in on Mrs. Norman's fine workshop on creating and using a Nicenet account, and Ms. Thomson's fine workshop on using a Smartboard and Smart software. I also added links to facebook and twitter on the PW website.

I will be spending the weekend marking the remaining tests and retests for my junior math classes.

Pro-D On Fri., Sep. 24, 2010

Learned about how to create a blog, and started this one. Helped colleagues figure out how to use their Tablet PCs. Learned some new things about software I've used for a while.

Thurs., Sep. 23, 2010 Classes

Period 2.1 (Math 8/9 FT) - I was away for the morning. Students were to have worked on Lesson 2.4 Practice exercises #4 to #24 on pages 87 to 89, and Lesson 2.5 Practice exercises #3 to #17 on pages 92 and 93.

 

Period 2.3 (Math 9/10 FT) - Handed back and went over the Tangents and Chords QUIZ. Students were reminded that there will be a Unit 8 test on Wed., Sep. 29.

 

Period 2.4 (Math 8) - Students wrote a quiz based on using modeling to multiply integers. Students also worked on filling in a - and + integer times table sheet, which will be refered to for Lesson 2.2 on Monday.
